The American Red Cross of the U.S. Virgin Islands serves the islands of St. Croix, St. Thomas, St. John and Water Island with offices in St. Croix and St. Thomas. The USVI team is part of a nationwide network of locally-based Red Cross chapters, and is affiliated with Red Cross operations in Central Florida.
Our team of staff and volunteers is dedicated to meeting the immediate disaster-caused needs of individuals, families and communities. We provide programs and services that help our island community prepare for, respond to and recover from disaster big and small.
Some disasters, such as floods and home fires, can occur anywhere. Weather-related emergencies like hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes and tsunamis are the most common local hazards. When a major disaster strikes, the Red Cross works closely with VITEMA and the VI Department of Human Services to provide support for emergency shelters and feeding.
Our need for volunteers is constant to carry out our humanitarian mission. If you are interested in helping us provide service to our island community, please go to redcross.org/volunteer to learn more.
