Cherise Coleman recalls how the Red Cross volunteers came to her house a few years ago and put in additional alarms. “The Red Cross saved my life.” She encourages residents to learn more about the Sound the Alarm program. She says it could save your life too.
Established in 1917, The American Red Cross of Nevada now serves 3.1 million people residing in 17 counties across 110,567 square miles. Throughout the nation, local Red Cross chapters help prevent, prepare, and respond to life-threatening emergencies by focusing on five lines of service: Disaster Relief; Blood Services; Training and Certification; Support for Military Families; and International Services.
The Northern and Southern Chapters are headquartered in the state’s two primary metropolitan areas of Reno and Las Vegas.
Utah & Nevada Region Youth Services Volunteers of the Red Cross have chosen to support the Measles & Rubella Initiative. An end to measles and rubella is within sight, but it is not guaranteed.
