Discover believes in being a good corporate citizen and making a difference in our communities so people can achieve a brighter future. This commitment extends to those who may be outside our communities affected by disasters. Since 2010 we have supported the American Red Cross and their efforts to provide aid to those in need at a moment’s notice by providing our cardmembers and employees the opportunity to make donations through various channels.
Our cardmembers support the American Red Cross through our Cashback Bonus program by donating their award directly on Discover.com. Cardmembers may also make donations through our online Discover.com/giving site at any time or during specific disaster relief effort campaigns. We provide them the opportunity to make a Cashback and/or a direct donation on GivingTuesday and provide a company match on top of their donation. Since our collaboration, cardmembers have provided nearly $2.6 million in donations.
Discover employees have a long standing tradition of helping those in need and are proud to donate to the American Red Cross to assist with relief efforts through our You Care, We Share program. When a disaster strikes, we encourage employees to make a donation through our program for company match eligibility. Employees across the company also volunteer their time to provide services to those who may need assistance.
